If you want to find information on past, current and planned roadworks in your area you can use the streetworks register. All activities are recorded at street level, and the register lists
- works start and end date
- who is responsible for the works (known as the promoter)
- locations and description of works to be carried out.
There is also a lot of other information in the register which may be useful to professionals working in the field.
Street works are works carried out on a road by utility companies (usually the main services of gas, electricity, water and telecommunications). They are governed by legislation which requires utilities to inform the Council of any works that they are carrying out within the Leeds boundary. We in turn add these to the streetworks register.
Apart from utility companies, we also carry out roadworks as part of our commitment to maintaining and improving the highways in Leeds. These are also listed in the streetworks register.
