Bin Collections

Changes to bin services over Christmas and the New Year 2014 / 2015. You can also use the 'Check your bin day' link.

One Stop Centres and Housing Offices

All One Stop Centres are closed on bank holidays.

24 December- All One Stop Centres are closing at 1pm, except Great George Street which will close at 4pm.
29-31 December - The following One Stop Centres will be open: Great George Street, Dewsbury Rd, Compton Road, Armley, St Georges Centre.  All others will be closed.
2 January – The following One Stop Centres are open: Great George Street, Compton Road, Armley, St Georges Centre.  All others are closed.

Your local housing office will be closed from 3.30pm Wednesday 24 December and will reopen on Monday 5 January 2015 at 8.30am.  

Burmantofts housing office, Rigton Lawn, LS9 7QA will be open on:

All sites are closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January. Open as normal during the rest of the Christmas period.​

Contact centre phone lines

These will be open 8am-6pm as usual Monday to Friday, but will not be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day. The out -of-hours service will remain open during this period.​

This is with the exception of the Council Tax and Benefits phone lines, who will be closed from 3pm 24 December to 8am 5 January.


The Registrar service will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.

On the 29 to 31 December and 2 January the service will operate with a skeleton staff and is likely to deal with death registrations only. Emergency requests eg notices and certificate applications may also be dealt with according to staff availability.

Registrars will not be operating at any of the one stop centres during Christmas and New year period. All business will be conducted at 2 Great George St.
