Activities at the West Leeds Activity Centre

We offer a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities. Click on the drop down headings for more information on each one.

Our instructors are highly qualified professionals who all share the same goal: to make sure everyone has a great experience at the centre.

Each activity lasts for about 2 hours and group sizes are usually 6 to 12 people. We can run multiple activities at the same time so larger groups are welcome and everyone gets a chance to try something new. You can add a few activities together to make a full or half day and our programmes are all inclusive and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

We are happy to work with you to put together a bespoke programme based on your requirements. Please get in touch with us by telephone on 0113 336 7414 or via email at westleedsactivitycentre@leeds.gov.uk

Some of the topics covered in bushcraft include: wild plants, foods, medicine, shelter building, water procurement, and fire lighting. All-day bushcraft sessions mix elements of orienteering with bushcraft to create the ultimate survival experience.

A nature trail is set up around the site and can be used by schools as a self-led activity or run by one of the team at the centre. The nature trail offers opportunities to study wildlife and nature away from the classroom environment in secure and safe surroundings.

As the site is completely secure, young people can investigate the site in small unaccompanied groups. The nature trail gives children and young people a chance to enjoy nature at its best, draw, take photographs, collect specimens, and work in our outdoor classroom areas.
