Traffic Growth

The volume of traffic using roads throughout West Yorkshire is regularly monitored as part of the County Wide Long Term Monitoring Programme (LTMP). This programme, started over 25 years ago, records traffic levels using automatic traffic counters.

The annual report on traffic growth in Leeds, for which data has been collected since 1979, has been finalised. This report, which covers changes in 16 hour weekday traffic during the period 2001 to 2011, shows the continuing impact of the economic recession on traffic flows in Leeds.
