Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax support claimants
If you are currently claiming Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax support, and need to report a change of address, please do not use the online form under Top Tasks.
You need to download the appropriate change of address form from the expandable Documents section on this page and hand it into a One Stop Centre or post it to us.
How do I report a change of address?
To inform the Council Tax department of a change of address if you aren't claiming Council Tax Support or Benefits, please click Continue to report a change of address in the Top Tasks section on this page and fill out the online form. You can use this form whether you are moving in or out of Leeds or moving within Leeds. Please see our Moving into a property in Leeds page for information and advice about what you need to consider when moving home.
If your moving date is more than 7 days away then we will process the change of address closer to the time you move. You will not need to contact us again and we will send your final bill or refund to your new address.
How do I report a change of name?
If you are claiming Council Tax Support or Housing benefit you will need to fill out a Change of circumstances form which you can find on the Change in circumstances page.
If you are not claiming Council Tax Support or Housing benefit then simply just email us using the 'Contact us' email form on this page with your previous name, your current name, your full address and your Council Tax account reference number (begins with an 8) if you have it.
