Respite Care

The Learning Disability Community Support Service provides a respite care and emergency service for adults with a learning disability.

The respite service offers an opportunity for over 200 people each year to have short stays away from their family and gives family carers a break from their caring responsibilities.

The emergency service provides a place for someone to stay when an unplanned event occurs or their needs change.  Providing this dedicated service enables us to be responsive to a situation without having to cancel someone else’s planned respite stay.  Customers can stay for up to three months whilst they are supported to move on to a more permanent setting.

Both the respite care and emergency service are registered through Registered Care Home arrangements under the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
