Respite and Emergency Service

woman with a cameraThe Learning Disability Community Support Service provides a Respite Care and Emergency Service for adults with a learning disability.  These services are registered through the Registered Care Home arrangements with the Care Quality Commission who have yet again assessed all our services as meeting registration standards.

The Respite Care Service offers an opportunity for more than 200 customers each year to have short stays away from their family and gives family carers a break from their caring responsibilities.

The Crisis Service provides 5 places for people to stay and be supported by staff when their needs change or an emergency occurs.  Having a dedicated service enables us to be responsive to unplanned situations without the need to cancel someone else’s pre-booked respite stay.  Customers can stay for up to three months whilst they are supported to move on to a more permanent setting.
