Self-service for council tenants

Improving the online experience for tenants is important to us.

The Self Service Portal gives you easy access to:

  • Access your tenancy information
  • Access personal information about yourself
  • Update personal information about yourself such as mobile telephone number, email address etc.
  • Make a rent payment
  • View your up to date rent account
  • Print off a rent statement
  • View previous repairs undertaken on your property in the last 28 days

You will need to register first. Please have your tenancy reference number to hand. You must also:

  • be the lead tenant at the property
  • have Internet Explorer 6 or above (or an equivalent) installed on your computer or device
  • have an email address/account

  • When you have registered we will send you an email with a verification code. This will arrive within 3 working days. You can now log into the Self Service Portal. In the portal you will see at the top of the page where you need to add in your verification code. This will open up the portal for you with all of your tenancy information.

If you experience any difficulties logging in please view our Self Service Portal Guide.

You must input the same login details you used when you first registered:

  • The 8 letter password you chose
  • Your Memorable word (this is a minimum 5 letters)
  • Your Email address

Click on the blue wording “Please click here to enter your validation code” in the top red box on the front of the portal screen. You can then enter the code. You only have to do this once when you first register.

View our Self Service Portal Guide for advice and guidance on logging in.

Click to expandHow can I get a new code?

If you haven't received an activation code then contact  housingenquiries@leeds.gov.uk who will arrange a new code for you.

Click to expandWhat do I need to be able to register?

You need to be registered as the lead tenant with LCC

  • You must have access to the Internet
  • You must have an email account. You can create one for free using popular services (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, others are available)
  • You must know the first 7 digits of your tenancy reference number/rent account. Do not use the last two digits

Click to expandCan a leaseholder or LHR applicant register?

Yes – just follow the same steps as detailed in What do I need to be able to register?

Click to expandWhy can’t I change my surname?

The portal only allows some changes to be made online. Certain changes will require documents to be seen by your local Housing Office staff in order to make any alterations. For example a change of surname will need a marriage certificate / decree absolute or a deed-poll change of name document.

Click to expandI’ve forgotten my details such as password or memorable word?

Click on “Forgotten Login Details” on the Self Service Portal Home page. An email will be sent instantly to you with your correct login information.

Click to expandCan I use the portal on a mobile or tablet?

Yes you can, but the layout may look different due to size changes which will not alter for a tablet or mobile. You may have to scroll through the full screen.

Click to expandWhat if I don’t have access to a computer or the Internet?

The portal is for people who can access the internet and have an email address. However, some local One Stop Centres are running online sign-up sessions where you can get help to create an email address and access online services, so check with your local office for more information. You can also access the internet at your local library.

Click to expandCan anyone else access my details?

No one else will be able to access your details unless you give them the login details such as email, memorable word, or password.
