Ways to pay your rent

It is very important to pay your rent on time so that you do not go into arrears and breach your tenancy agreement with us. Details of payment methods are listed on this page.

You can log onto the Self Service Portal to make payments and check your rent balance.

If you have not used this service before you will need to register. Please have your rent reference number to hand. You can find this on your rent payment card, on your rent statement, or any letters we have sent to you.

Please note that you cannot use a credit card to make online payments.



If you don’t want to register, or know the exact amount you need to pay, you can use the quick payment service by clicking the button below. You will need your rent reference number to hand.

​​Call our automated telephone line 0113 395 7100, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

You can make a payment using a Debit Card.

Credit cards cannot be used.

You will need your rent reference number. You can find this on your rent payment card, on your rent statement, or by contacting us.​

​When paying by Direct Debit your payments are spread equally throughout the year on a monthly basis.

You can set your monthly Direct Debit payment for the 1, 8, 17, 22, 30 of each month.

We also accept weekly Direct Debit payments which will be collected each Friday.

If the rent changes, we can adjust the Direct Debit for you.

To set up a Direct Debit, complete the form and return to us. We will write to you when it is set up. Please continue to make rent payments until your hear from us to avoid getting into rent arrears. ​​

​If you pay by Standing Order your payments are spread equally throughout the year on a monthly basis.

You can also set up a weekly standing order if your bank or building society allows it.

If your rent changes it is your responsibility to instruct your bank to alter the payments.

To set up a Standing Order, please complete the Standing Order form, and return it to your bank or building society.

Please contact us to let us know you are setting up a Standing Order so that we can update your rent records.

​Using your Payment Card, you can make payments at post office counters.

You can also make payments anywhere in the UK and abroad where you see the Paypoint signs:

​If you are a member of Leeds Credit Union you can also pay through Leeds City Credit Union Bill Paying Services.

​If you are a Leeds City Council employee you can pay your rent direct from your wage.

To arrange this ring (0113) 247 6192. You will need your payroll number and your rent reference number.

​If you live in Leeds and pay rent you can apply for help towards your rent by claiming housing benefit. This could pay all or part of your rent.

It is your responsibility to make a claim for housing benefit and to make sure that it is paid.
