Foster carer development and training

The Leeds City Council fostering service has introduced a payment for skills (PFS) scheme for Leeds foster carers.  This provides a range of post approval training and development opportunities linked to the requirements of the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) standards for foster carers.

Support groups

Foster carer support groups are part of the payment for skills scheme requirements and provide additional opportunities for training and development (including guest speakers). The support group’s calendar is available to download from this page.

Leeds Foster Care Association

The LFCA is a campaigning, independent organisation supporting Leeds foster carers. Membership is free and provides access to a range of support, advice, social events and more. To find out more, please contact 0113 287 0804 or follow the link to the LFCA website on this page.
