For social care emergencies out of office hours please contact the Social Care Emergency Duty Team on 0113 240 9536.
The Emergency Duty Team deals with adult safeguarding, mental health and child protection emergencies and has to prioritise referrals. Giving them full information helps them to respond more effectively.
They prioritise and work within local and national policy and procedural imperatives to ensure the safety, wellbeing of service users and the department.
The team also meet the local authorities statutory obligations and duties, and work with partner agencies including the police, health and education.
