East Leeds Extension - Have your say

Your input can make a big difference

Letting us know your views means we can plan and deliver ELE and ELOR in ways which reflect the needs and views of the people who live and work in the area as well as people who use the facilities locally.

Statutory consultation on the East Leeds Extension Supplementary Planning Document (ELE SPD) begins on Wednesday 1st November and will close at 5 pm on 29th November 2017.

We welcome the views of residents, community groups, local businesses, developers and stakeholders during the period of public consultation.

The document and response form are available to download
East Leeds draft SPD (PDF 1185 KB)

ELE response form (Word 71KB)

SPD statement of consultation matters (PDF 56 KB)

The document will be available at Leeds City Council’s Leonardo Reception and the central library alongside Crossgates, Seacroft, Whinmoor, Scholes, Shadwell, Halton and Garforth libraries including the Seacroft Community
Hub. It will also be advertised through Facebook and LCC social media sites.

We will be holding a public drop-in event at Cross Gates Methodist Church, Cross Gates on Tuesday 14th November 2017 from 3:00pm to 7:30pm where you will be able to view and comment on the document and discuss further with relevant Leeds City Council officers.

What is in the Draft ELE SPD?
The ELE SPD will form planning guidance for the whole of the ELE, seeking to address the requirements set out for the UDP Housing Allocation (Policy H3.3A.33) whilst providing a clear framework to secure the delivery of the East Leeds Extension (Northern, Middle and Southern Quadrants) and in particular the required infrastructure to facilitate development.

Once formally adopted by Leeds City Council, the SPD will be a consideration in the determination of planning applications.  Setting out guidance on design and principles, the SPD also sets out some proposed delivery routes for the regeneration of  ELE to give stakeholders and residents the certainty that the vision of ELE can be delivered.

ELOR Planning Application.
The ELOR planning application has been submitted and a series of public  consultation events took place in July, thank you for taking part and please continue to visit this website for more updates on the progress of the planning application.
