Bismarcks, Beeston

These homes have been built as part of the Housing Regeneration Project.

On Bismarck Street and Bismarck Drive we have built:

  • 40 two bedroom flats
  • 10 two bedroom houses
  • 10 three bedroom houses
  • 6 four bedroom houses

The first homes on these sites were ready to let in 2016 and the last were handed over in January 2017.

The new homes have been let under a local letting policy and they were only allocated to tenants who demonstrated an excellent tenancy record. We have consulted with local councillors, tenants and residents about this.

Properties are now all let.

If you have any questions, you can email our New Build Homes team.

Click to expandWhat does an excellent tenancy record mean?

Our new homes are more than simply bricks and mortar. We want to build stronger neighbourhoods where people are proud to live and take pride in being part of the local community.

We will allocate our new homes to people who meet their responsibilities as tenants, and who do not cause problems for their neighbours

Before we offer one of our new homes we will look at your tenancy record. We will check:

you have a good rent payment history;

you have kept the property where you live in a good condition. This includes outside areas as well as inside your home (for example gardens or areas you share with neighbours).

you do not have a history of anti-social behaviour, causing nuisance or creating environmental issues.

We will also visit you at home and carry out an inspection of your property.

Click to expandWhen can I bid for the new homes?

Our new homes will be advertised during summer 2017 in the Leeds Homes magazine and on the website www.leedshomes.org.uk.

You can sign up for text alerts when the properties appear in the Leeds home flyer and on the website.

We just need your name your phone number and the development you want to receive the text alert for.

Click to expandHow much will they cost to rent?

The new tenants will pay rent in line with the amount paid by other council tenants.

Click to expandCan I buy one of the new homes?

Our new homes are for letting only. None of them are available to buy or for shared ownership.

If you become a tenant then you may qualify for the right to buy, although special rules will apply. The discount will take the cost of building your home into account.
