Bidding for a council property

Find out how to bid for properties and get answers to questions about the bidding process.

You can find our homes that are available to let on the Leeds Homes website. We update the website every Wednesday with new available properties. We also advertise them in our free weekly Leeds Homes magazine. We publish this every Wednesday and it is available in housing offices and one stop centres.

How to bid for a home
You can bid for up to three properties each week. The weekly bidding cycle runs from 8am each Wednesday until 5pm the following Monday.

You can bid for properties:
  • Online on the Leeds Homes website
  • By text to 60066
  • Using our 24 hour automated telephone service, dial 0113 2224413
  • Using our minicom service, dial 0113 2224410
  • In person at your local housing office or one stop centre. (Our staff can also help you use the other ways to bid)

To bid you will need your membership number, date of birth and the reference numbers of the properties you wish to bid for. You will find the reference number next to each of the properties we have advertised.

Help with bidding
