These six elearning modules, designed in 2009, were commissioned by the Public Health Action Support team.  They are FREE for you to access.   The modules guide you through the process of  learning how to find the evidence, how to assess the validity and reliability of the published research in order to provide effective and efficient healthcare.

The course is made up of 6 modules: 
Overall introduction to critical appraisal
Finding the evidence
Randomised controlled trials
Systematic reviews
Economic evaluations
Making sense of results

This set of eight checklists are free and available for all to use when reading research.

The 8 checklists are on: 
Systematic reviews
Qualitative data 
Randomised control trials
Case control
Cohort studies
Clinical prediction rule
Diagnostic checklist
Economic evaluation 

These are free to download and can be used by anyone under the Creative Commons License.​
