Where can I take part in disability sport  

A booklet has been produced as a guide to some of the sports activities available for disabled people at our leisure centres and other venues across the city.

The Jan 2012 disability sport programme is available to download in PDF format.

The document also contains information on

• useful websites and club contacts
• leisure centres at a glance - a guide to access and facilities at leisure centres with the aim of allowing customers to make a more informed choice
• getting around - transport services

There are also many other programmed activities at leisure centres that may be suitable. Information on these can be found at your local leisure centre.

• Disability sports events calendar 2012 - details of forthcoming events
• Leeds disability tag rugby club - suitable for ambulant players with a learning or moderate physical disability. Kippax leisure centre, Saturdays (during term time) from 1pm to 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 16+, starts: 21 January 2012 (initial 8 weeks)
• Wheelchair racing clinics and come and try sessions
• Disability gym-minis at Scott Hall leisure centre on Wednesday’s 1.15pm to 2pm. Suitable for children aged 1 to 4 years old with any disability

• Ability Counts football offers regular, structured, football sessions to players aged 8 - 65, allowing them to achieve through football at a level they are comfortable with.

• Inclusive tennis served up in Leeds - Participants of all ages, all abilities and all disabilities recently came together for a fantastic free day of tennis
  in Leeds.
• Leeds represents at first Paralympic test event - The London Prepares International Goalball test event took place at the Handball Arena at the new Olympic Park in London on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December 2011.
• Bodyline Fitness membership 
  20 per cent discount for disabled customers on our leisure centre membership scheme.
