'What climate change means to me'

  • Today's young people are likely to experience the effects of climate change in the future much more than we do today - and they will be forced to address the issue – that’s why it's important that young people understand the causes of climate change and understand what they can do to change it. Climate change is a global problem, and yet each one of us has the power to make a difference. Even small changes in our daily behaviour can help prevent greenhouse gas emissions without affecting our quality of life and can even help save us money.

 Brief Details of Entry.

  • We’d like you to share your understanding, ideas and feelings on thesubject of global warming and climate change and what you think should be done about it and who should do it.
  • You can do this in written format (poems, essays, short story, rap or other) or visual format (drawing, painting, photographs, installation or other with description)
  • All entries will also be scanned and made available in pdf format on our new website ,www.europedirectleeds.org.uk  identified only by the student’s first name and Key Stage
  • The winners’ work will be exhibited in January at the launch of a new climate change exhibition in the new Leeds Museum, where a fantastic celebratory event will be held for the prize winners. All entrants will be invited to this event.

Who can enter

  • The competition is divided into the 2 age categories.
  • Category 1: Primary School KS2 7-11 years
  • Category 2 : High School KS3 11-14 years
  • Participating students can work individually, or in teams

How to enter
