Temple Newsam House is a magnificent country mansion dating back 500 years and described as the Hampton Court Palace of the North. With a number of facilities available for venue hire, Temple Newsam is the perfect place for weddings, special occasions, meetings or away days.

​This Tudor - Jacobean mansion is licensed to hold weddings and civil partnership ceremonies and provides both grandeur and intimacy. Set within 1500 acres of beautiful gardens, mature woodland and rolling parkland, it is the perfect setting for your special day.

There are a number of exquisite rooms within the House that are both licensed for Civil Ceremonies and available for dining. In addition, the South Terrace is perfect for a drinks reception, allowing you and your guests to take in the spectacular countryside and surroundings.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room is situated on the ground floor and is available for up to forty guests at a ceremony and seats twenty for dinner. A truly majestic room overlooked by the spectacular heraldic over mantel bearing the arms of Mary Queen of Scots.

The Great Hall

In the 16th century the Great Hall was the space traditionally used for feasting and celebrations. It is an excellent venue for a larger wedding ceremony or for a dinner for up to one hundred guests. It has exits into the courtyard of the House as well as straight onto the South Terrace.

​Temple Newsam offers a unique and flexible location if you are looking for somewhere special for your meeting, training session or team away day. We are located just 4 miles from Leeds City Centre and 2.5 miles from junc 46 of the M1. Free parking is available on site and our meeting rooms are fully accessible.
