Meet The Birdies
Site: Lotherton Hall
Key stages:
KS1, KS2
Subject areas:
Science, Literacy
This workshop is led by museums staff.
What's involved?
A fascinating interactive tour of the Lotherton Bird Garden with our resident experts. Plus, an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of our friendliest birds.
This two-hour long workshop focuses on variation and classification, adaptation, feeding relationships and local habitats, but supports the development of speaking and listening skills.
Workshop is supported by the Carnival of Colour Colouring Book with 12 exotic birds from our collection, line-drawn for your children to colour in at school or at the Bird Garden, with information about each and a world map to plot where they come from. The Gascoigne family who owned Lotherton travelled extensively as part of the diplomatic service. Why not visit the Hall at the same time to explore the different collections from around the world?
