We have a menu of curriculum based workshops for you to choose from, or we can work with you to create a tailored package for the specific needs of your students. These have been developed through extensive teacher consultation and meet the 2014 National Curriculum and Exam Board Specifications. Our programmes offer experiential, multi-sensory, interactive and creative experiences that can bring learning the life for your students. On our sites, we have creative spaces for you to work in and can help you with Health and Safety - download our Health & Safety guidance from the planning a visit section. You can even build on the visit back in the classroom with objects from Artemis, the school object loans service.
Can’t come to us? Look up the Discovery Centre workshops. We can run as any of these on site at the Discovery Centre or as outreach in your school or setting.
How much will it cost? All of our sites have free entry to Leeds LEA and SEN schools. So, Leeds LEA and SEN schools can run a self-led visit to all sites free of charge. We charge a £1 per pupil entrance charge for non-Leeds schools (including Academies) at Abbey House, Armley Mills, Thwaite Mills, Temple Newsam House and Lotherton Hall (includes entrance to Bird Garden).
We believe every child should be able to access cultural education and cost should not be a barrier. As such, we have held our workshop prices since September 2012. Our workshop charges, for one class (either on site or as outreach), are: £55 for a two-hour workshop and £110 for a full day workshop.
