Key stages:
KS2
Subject areas:
Maths, Numeracy
This workshop is led by museums staff.
What's involved?
This workshops gives an excellent opportunity to put classroom maths into action. We will use a range of medieval but still relevant techniques to estimate and calculate length area and height. This workshop helps to demonstrate the practical applications of maths and its relevance to different activities and jobs.
In smaller groups pupils will complete investigations into arch building, tessellation and simple ciphers. These smaller group activities work particularly well with groups with a healthy competitive spirit and help to make maths interesting and fun!
