Ancient Egypt: A Day in the Life
Site: Discovery Centre
Key stages:
KS2
Subject areas:
History, Art
This workshop is led by museums staff.
What's involved?
Become Egyptologists for the day and use real artefacts and archaeological discoveries to find out about daily life in Ancient Egypt, from priests in temples to farmers by the Nile. Find out how we know about the ordinary man and his daily life.
During this two-hour workshop, pupils will make a replica clay bead bracelet and visit the 3,000 year old mummy bandages.
All workshops at the Discovery Centre include a tour of our museum store where we house the million objects looked after by Leeds Museums and Galleries
Want to make a day of it? This workshop can be booked jointly with 'Bringing the Ancient Egyptians to Life: Death on the Nile' at Leeds City Museum, so you can explore life and death in ancient Egypt in one day.
