 Community Groups

We work closely with community groups and organisations to arrange bespoke visits and events. These sessions can be held at Leeds Discovery Centre or our outreach staff will take objects out into the community and share our collections with your group.

Explore some of our collections by participating in workshops and handling sessions specially adapted to individual needs/interests.

Please contact our Community History team to discuss your ideas and requirements by phoning 0113 378 2100.

Booked community groups are welcome to come and visit the Discovery Centre and explore some of our collections by participating in workshops and handling sessions specially adapted to individual needs/interests.

One such group is Peer Support (run by Adult Social Care) for people in the early stages of dementia who have been visiting with us for several years. The group has enjoyed a variety of activities including store tours and themed workshops on Fossils/Minerals, Coins and Medals and Tailoring with a strong Leeds connection.

Sessions are very relaxed and informal and usually last around an hour and a half with tea/coffee breaks for people to socialise and chat to museum staff.
