Leeds Discovery Centre is a member of the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS). Situated in Leeds, the resource centre is approximately 1.5 miles from Leeds City Centre.

We welcome visitors to attend free workshops and handling sessions, undertake research and hold meetings at the site. Free public store tours are held every Thursday at 11.00 and 14.00.

All visits are by appointment, so please call us on 0113 378 2100 or email discovery.centre@leeds.gov.uk to make a booking.

On arrival, please ring the bell and a member of staff will greet you in the reception lobby.

There are two designated disabled parking spaces in the car park. Access from the car park to the entrance is up a long and gradual ramp.

An accessible ramp at the back of the museum can be used for evacuation in emergencies.

​Pedestrian access to Leeds Discovery Centre is via Carlisle Road, which is flat and accessible. The entrance door is automatic, with a wide clearing space.

The education spaces and store are all situated on the ground floor of Leeds Discovery Centre and are fully accessible. We have a lift to the second-floor meeting room and offices.​

There are accessible toilets on both floors of Leeds Discovery Centre and facilities in the accessible toilets include emergency alarms and fire alarm with a flashing light. These toilets are not RADAR key operated.

Induction loops are in place in the entrance foyer, the meeting room and education room.
