Are you crazy about retro clothes? Would you like to explore our Costumes and Textiles collection and discover more about fashions from the past?

The Vintage Youth Club might just be the place for you!

Who is it for?
Anyone aged 13 to 24, with an interest in history or fashion.

When do we meet?
On Wednesdays in term time 3.30pm – 5pm.

What do we do?
You could get involved with everything from blogging to street style photography; exploring our fashion and textiles collections to helping develop community exhibition content.

​The Youth Engagement team at Leeds Museums and Galleries runs projects in partnership with youth organisations across the city, and delivers outreach visits and special sessions for youth projects.

 We have successfully worked with organisations including: Getaway Girls, The Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers, The Cupboard, Leeds University, residential children’s homes, foster care teams, social care teams, Youth Offending Service and Strong Voices.We have a strong partnership with the Leeds Council Youth Service.

Are you a young person aged 13 to 24?

We have a range of fun and exciting opportunities for you at Leeds Museums – from workshops to young curators’ groups, events and the chance to go behind the scenes. Check out the menus above to find out how to get involved!

Do you work with young people?

Our dedicated Youth Engagement Officer can provide 1-2-1 or group work sessions at Leeds City Museum, Kirkstall Abbey or Abbey House Museum, including tours and visits to our other sites. We also provide outreach visits to your youth project or community space. We have successfully worked with organisations including: Getaway Girls, The Carriageworks Young Theatre Makers, The Cupboard, Leeds University, residential children’s homes, foster care teams, social care teams, Youth Offending Service and Strong Voices. We have a strong partnership with the Leeds Council Youth Service.

Our Youth Engagement team offer specialised sessions designed with your need in mind, so why not get involved!

“I really enjoy coming down to the museum and researching stuff like the Leeds Suffragettes.”
