 The 1152 Club

Every other Friday, 10am - 11.30am at Kirkstall Abbey Visitor Centre

Welcome to The 1152 Club - a free, friendly local history and special interest group for adults aged 55+

Based at Kirkstall Abbey Visitors' Centre, The 1152 Club meet every other Friday to listen to guests speakers on a variety of fascinating topics.

Whether you’re interested in learning more about the local area, taking a trip into the past, or simply just want to meet new people over a cup of tea, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Just turn up on the day, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, and new members are always welcome!

Why 1152?
Kirkstall Abbey was first founded by Cistercian monks in 1152. Our aim is to provide a warm, welcoming group that is just as durable, giving you and other members the opportunity to help shape and plan our talks, tours and activities in the future!

The Sociable History Club
A new, similar group also meets at Leeds City Museum. Find out more.
