Leeds Museums and Galleries' Natural Science Collections are the largest and one of the most important in Yorkshire and Humberside.
The natural science collections comprise zoological (animals), botanical (plants), conchological (shells) and geological (rocks, minerals and fossils) specimens from Yorkshire and around the world.
The natural science collections are housed principally at The Discovery Centre where they can be viewed by appointment.
A fabulous natural world gallery will be opening as part of the new Leeds City Museum. This will showcase some of the most popular items from Leeds Museums and Galleries collections such as the Bengal tiger and the polar bear.
