Learning

Hello! Welcome to Learning at Lotherton!

Just to get you thinking… Where can you do all these things in one day?

a. Wander wistfully through a wildflower meadow?
b. Travel the world through Africa and China with the Gascoigne family?
c. Come face-to-face with exotic feathery friends?
d. Imagine yourself living in a grand Edwardian house?
e. And have a nice of cup of tea and slice of cake at the end of the day?

Lotherton Estate, of course! Our mantra is: curiosity, creativity and conversation and all our work stems from those three principles.

We are here to help you navigate your way around the lush, green estate and the unique collections at the Hall. We have Chinese porcelain, chairs and paintings in gilt picture frames waiting to be used as inspiration for artwork; birds who have developed from dinosaurs, woodlands waiting to be explored; and, mostly, we have stories waiting to be discovered and new ones being created.

Whether you are a teacher looking for classroom resources or out of the classroom experiences; a parent looking for things to do in the school holidays or with your under five; or a teenager interested in the arts, then this is the portal to set you on the right track.

So, have a browse, find something that interests you, get curious, follow a train of thought, experiment, visit, try something new, revisit old skills or get in touch.

Getting in touch

We are working on developing a joint learning offer and a single point of contact to make life easier for you, but these things take time. So, if you are interested in visiting the Hall please contact: 0113 283259, and for the Bird Garden and wider estate contact: 0113 3367560

Working to keep everyone safe
