Books and online resources
Our specialist collection has over 10,000 books covering all aspects of music including theory, composers, instruments, popular and classical music. You can access Grove Music Online by typing in your library membership number including LDP. SearchRED is also available online in the Music Library and contains comprehensive information on music recordings, DVDs etc and the MPA catalogue of printed music.

Scores and Orchestral Sets
A large collection of printed music including scores, songbooks, music for solo instruments and chamber music. We have a range of over 1,000 orchestral sets available to orchestras within the Leeds district. A representative of the orchestra can register the orchestra. There is a charge for borrowing sets which are obtained from other sources.

Periodicals
Keep up to date with the latest information from a wide range of periodicals in stock. We can also help with reference enquiries and music homework.

Special Collections
These include a Victorian song collection and 18th and 19th century music for use in the library.

Compact Discs
Over 5,000 CDs in stock - pop, rock, jazz, classical, chamber, opera, film music, shows, instrumental, world music, light music and much more. The loan period for audio items is one week.

CD Central - A space dedicated to the promotion of local music, featuring a growing collection of over 700 CD's produced by Leeds bands and artists plus free music literature and information about local music events. CD's from the collection can be borrowed free of charge for a one week loan period. Pick up a donation form if you want your recording to be included in the collection.

How to borrow
There is no separate membership - just bring your computer card with you, or join the library. You can borrow up to a maximum of 20 items. There is a small charge for the hire of audio visual material but books and scores are free. The usual concessions apply.
