This popular park in North Leeds is renowned for its wonderful gardens, popular tea rooms and circular lakeside walk. At 55 hectares in size, it is located near to two of Leeds' most treasured nature reserves, Breary Marsh and Adel Dam. It's also on the route of both the Leeds Country Way and the Meanwood Valley Trail.

Location

Golden Acre park is situated 6 miles from Leeds City Centre on the A660 Leeds Road in between Adel and Bramhope. The postcode of the site is LS16 8BQ.

Cafe opening hours

Building works will be taking place throughout the winter and into spring 2015. As a result, the cafe may be offering a restricted service during that time​. It is recommended that customers call 0113 261 3064 before travelling to check whether the cafe is open to avoid disappointment.

Summer (BST) opening times:
Monday to Friday: 10:30am to 4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:30am to 5pm.

Winter (GMT) opening times:
Monday to Sunday 10am to 3:30pm.​

Disabled access, buses and parking

Free car parks are shown on the map on this page.

Buses to and from Leeds:

780, 784, X84 – 3 buses per hour Monday to Saturday daytime, hourly service evenings and Sundays.

Disabled Access:

Parking is free and there are 6 disabled parking bays in the car park off Otley Road.

The main circular route around the park and lake is well maintained and fairly flat, as are the demonstration gardens.

Motorised scooters are available to hire for free at Golden Acre Park from the Bakery Coffee House and must be pre-booked before 10am on the day of hire. To book, call 0113 261 3064

Disabled toilets are available in café and in public toilet block next to café​. The cafe is wheelchair accessible.​​

Volunteering

The Golden Acre Park Volunteers meet every first Wednesday of the month to help with gardening, nature conservation and generally looking after the park.
