Schools library service

Leeds Schools Library Service, SLS, provides the best available resources direct to Leeds schools to underpin the curriculum, and inspire reading for pleasure in pupils and staff, raising attainment throughout the school.

For information on our services please download our brochure, 'Unlock your library', from the 'Documents' section together with our Order Pack and Forms for the Academic year 2013 to 2014. Our order pack for the Academic year 2014 to 2015 revised and updated to support the new national curriculum will be released in May 2014 to help with your planning.

To celebrate the Tour de France, SLS and Leeds Libraries present : -

Tour de Leeds Libraries : Monday 23rd June - Friday 4th July 

Popular local children's author Tom Palmer www.tompalmer.co.uk will snap on his bicycle clips and cycle his way around all the libraries in Leeds as part of a special Tour de France author tour - on wheels!  Tom will be greeted at each library by groups of children from local schools, who will hear him talk about his love of books, the joy of reading and how libraries changed his life. Tom will also be reading a special short story he has written to celebrate this momentous occassion in Leeds - involving a young girl, her bike, a visit to the library and a wonderful adventure. Tom has also produced a brilliant resource pack for schools, which is also available to download.

World War 1 commemoration

SLS are offering a topic box of fiction and non fiction for schools to borrow. Our comprehensive booklist is also available to download.
