Schools library service

Leeds Schools Library Service (SLS) provides the best available resources direct to Leeds schools to underpin the curriculum, and inspire reading for pleasure in pupils and staff, raising attainment throughout the school.
For information on our services please see the brochure, 'Unlock your library', in the documents section, along with our Order Pack and Forms for the Academic year 2014 to 2015.

Reading for pleasure
The Leeds Book Awards is a successful city wide initiative, run jointly between Leeds School Library Service and Leeds Public Libraries. The Awards provide a fantastic opportunity for schools and pupils to take part and vote for the best children’s and young people’s books published in 2014 in the 9-11 age category.

To register and find out more, please download a registration form and newsletter in the documents section.
We are passionate about supporting schools with the reading for pleasure agenda. There are a number of ways we can help you foster a love of reading with your pupils including author visits (real or virtual), arranging a Patron of Reading and tying into national reading initiatives.
