Reading for pleasure
The Leeds Book Awards is a successful city wide initiative, run jointly between Leeds School Library Service and Leeds Public Libraries. The Awards provide a fantastic opportunity for schools and pupils to take part and vote for the best children’s and young people’s books published in 2014 in 9-11, 11-14 and 14-16 categories. "Comics in the Classroom" delivered by artist and writer Jim Medway on Wednesday 11 March 2015. New ideas using comics and graphic novels to engage reluctant readers, and supporting children's reading for pleasure.
"Creative Displays" delivered by freelance artist Kerry O'Brien on Monday 27 April 2015. How to achieve visually exciting displays, through quick and easy techniques using a range of inexpensive materials. Back by popular demand!
