Schools library service

Leeds Schools Library Service (SLS) provides the best available resources direct to Leeds schools to underpin the curriculum, and inspire reading for pleasure in pupils and staff, raising attainment throughout the school.

Reading for pleasure – current initiatives 

Votes are now in for the 9-11, 11-14 and 14-16 shortlists for the 2016 Leeds Book Awards.

The 9-11 winner will be announced on the morning of 23 May 2016.

The 11-14 and 14-16 winners will be announced during the afternoon of the  25 May 2016.

Author suggestions for Teachers to use in the classroom:

SLS & Learning Improvement Team staff, are collaborating to write short author profiles to help teachers discover different authors to use in the classroom. Contact SLS to borrow the books profiled.
