Parks and Countryside Volunteer Groups

There are over 100 volunteer groups affiliated with the parks and countryside service including:

  • About fifty ‘Friends of’ groups (see the download at the bottom of this page for a list of active Friends of groups).
  • Two groups that do practical work during the week on sites across the city. These are the Leeds Wildlife Volunteers (Wednesdays) and the Public Rights of Way volunteers (Thursdays).
  • Over fifty In Bloom groups (for more information go to our ‘In Bloom’ web page)

All these groups welcome new volunteers. Those currently advertising for support can be found in the back of the Parks and Countryside Events leaflet in the downloads section of this page.

Or for further information on how to get involved contact the countryside rangers on 0113 3367548.

Set up your own group

If you are interested in caring for your local site and it doesn’t have a Friends of group already, you could set up your own. To find out how to go about doing that, see the download entitled 'How to start Friends of groups' below. You can also contact us below to get support from the Parks and Countryside Service.
