Nature Areas in Leeds
Leeds has a large number of sites that are managed by the Parks and Countryside service for the benefit of wildlife. Many of these are woodlands but others include wildflower meadows, ponds, streams and heathland. Such habitats support a wealth of wildlife that you maybe surprised to find living in a big city. Species range from those we see fairly often like birds, frogs and bats to rarer species such as lizards, glow worms and crayfish.
