Here is just a taster of what we have on offer during April : -

WORLD BOOK NIGHT WEDNESDAY APRIL 23RD : -
  • 'To me, fair friend, you never can be old' - Celebrate Shakespeare's 450th birthday - Headingley Library: 7.00pm - 8.00pm. Trio Literati will be performing and reading sonnets and prose from some of Shakespeare's most famous work, FREE event, no booking required.
  • Shakespeare 450 - An evening of celebration - Leeds Central Library: 5.00pm - 7.45pm. Sonnets around the library with audience participation, Romeo and Juliet balcony scene, the Alan Cuckston Singers: 'Triumphies of Oriana', a collection of mandrigals in honour of Queen Elizabeth, Hamlet: The alas, poor Yorick Soliloquy, Talk: The supernatural in the age of Shakespeare, Witches, Monsters and Ghosts. FREE event, no booking required.
  • Read Regional Poetry Evening - Reading and discussion with Guest Cara Brennan - Chapel Allerton Library: 7.00pm - 8.30pm. Join us for a fantastic evening of regional poetry and enjoy a reading by Cara Brennan, one of this years Read Regional Poets and author of 'Destroyed Dresses' This is a FREE event but booking is essential, please book your place by contacting the library on 0113 378 1859
