The combination of scale, strategic location and transport connectivity make the Leeds City Region enterprise zone an unrivalled location for business investment, expansion and relocation.

Companies locating within the enterprise zone can take advantage of a range of incentives including reduced business rates, worth up to £275,000 over a five year period, simplified planning and a bespoke package of recruitment and business support.

Other financial incentives include grants of between £10,000 and £500,000, available to create new jobs and business growth. The grants are available to businesses based in the Leeds City Region or planning to invest here to support up to 10% of the cost of an individual investment.

Companies locating in the enterprise zone at the Temple Green and Logic Leeds sites that are making significant investments in plant or machinery can qualify for enhanced capital allowances, depending on tax and business status.

Employment Leeds is a Leeds City Council free service, which provides a single point of contact to help companies that are investing, expanding or developing a business in Leeds to recruit new staff.

As well as offering advice and information on the local labour market, the service works closely with businesses to understand their needs and make sure they recruit the right people. Full support is provided throughout the recruitment process, including facilities to host interviews, pre-employment training and workforce development.

Companies located in the enterprise zone will also benefit from the support from the Manufacturing Advisory Service and UKTI’s network of international trade advisors who can help to identify opportunities in overseas markets and provide intensive ‘in country’ support to help companies break into and grow export markets.

The UK government has introduced enterprise zones to stimulate private sector investment, drive growth and create new jobs. A key benefit is that the local enterprise partnership is able to retain business rates generated within the enterprise zone to fuel economic development projects across the wider Leeds City Region.
