Fairy Fun – Thurs, 17th May (10am to 11am)

For all under 5s fairies and their carers!  Join us for creative fairy fun. There are things to make, dressing up and things to play with. Feel free to come in your fairy outfits, but please be aware that sometimes we use paint and glue. 

Find out more about Monastic Writing – Thurs, 24th May (2pm to 3pm)

Part of our Find Out More series for adult visitors.  A chance to find out more about the abbey and the monks of Kirkstall. In this session  a look at monastic writing and have a go at writing with quill pens.  Booking is required, contact (0113) 230 5492.

Kirkstall Abbey Deli Market – Sat, 26th May (12pm to 3pm)

A brand new market in an ancient setting. Join us at our monthly market in the picturesque 12th century ruins of Kirkstall Abbey. We aim to give visitors an opportunity to buy good quality food, and local goods, from local and Northern producers and suppliers.

Crafts, Collectables and Vintage Market - Sun, 27th May (12pm to 3pm)

A brand new market in an ancient setting - join us at our new outdoor market for 2012 in the picturesque 12th century  ruins of Kirkstall Abbey. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon browsing hand made crafts, collectables and vintage treasures from across Yorkshire. 

June 

Make a dragon mask and meet the dragon – Weds, 6th June (2pm to 4pm)

Make a dragon mask and try to scare our dragon. Don't forget to bring your camera, he loves having his picture taken!

Gory Tour – Thurs, 7th June (2pm to 3pm)

Discover spooky stories and ghostly goings on in this fun interactive family tour. Not suitable for very young children or easily scared adults!

Magic Morning: Potions and Wands – Fri, 8th June (10am to 11.30am)

Join us for a magic morning of potion and wand making. 

Count the magicians in the Abbey – Sat, 9th June and Sun, 10th June (10am to 1pm)

We have hidden lots of different magicians and spells in and around the abbey. Come and see how many you can find for the chance to win a prize.

Knights, dragons and princesses – Thurs, 14th June (10am to 11am)

Is your under 5 a budding knight, lovely princess or little dragon? Then come along and join us for fun at the abbey. Come dressed up but remember we may get messy!

Part of our Find Out More series for adult visitors.  A chance to find out more about the abbey and the monks of Kirkstall. In this session a closer look at daily life in the monastery, what the different types of monks here did and why.

Muddy Monkeys Messy Play - Tues 3rd, 10th and 17th July (10am to 11am)

Join us at Kirkstall Abbey for messy creative fun with natural and art materials. Please wear suitable messing clothing as sometimes we paint, sometimes we get muddy and if the weather is nice we go outside in the ruins!

Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors - Thurs, 19th July (7.00pm), Fri, 20th July (7.00pm) and Sat, 21st July (3.00pm matinee and 7.00pm)

One day in a seaside town, two sets of identical twins are caught up in an inextricable muddle of mistaken identities.

Multi Monkeys Messy Play - Weds, 25th July (10am to 11am)

A monthly stay and play session for parents and preschool multiple births children. Please wear suitable messy clothing as sometimes we paint and sometimes we get muddy and if the weather is nice, we go outside in the ruins!
