The stone building to the west of the Malt House (29), was originally the wash place and toilet for the lay brothers.

High in the eastern gable, one can see the doorway which led from their first floor dorter (30, 33) to the upper storey of their Reredorter, where two rows of cubicles were arranged back to back over the main drain.
