Schools Programme

Leeds City Council in association with Education Leeds, are once again offering over 100 training sessions to schools in the Leeds Metropolitan District.

The NISA (National Ice Skating Association) approved 'First Steps to Skating' programme includes basic tuition by qualified coaches with all ice skates and safety helmets provided. All pupils completing the session will receive a signed certificate which also includes a special discount on to the official Skate UK 'Fun Skate' programme at a local rink.

There are four daily sessions available weekdays between Monday 19th January to Friday 6th March 2009 (excluding half term - Friday 13th - Monday 23rd February) inclusive:

09.45am - 10.30am
10.45am - 11.30am
1.45pm - 2.30pm (excluding Fridays)
2.45pm - 3.30pm (excluding Fridays)

Each individual skating session is limited to school groups up to a maximum of 40 pupils. All bookings are subject to a £20 administration fee (which includes the cost of the certificates and postage and packaging) and are on a strictly first come first served basis.

All bookings are advised to be made early to avoid any disappointment.

For after schools clubs and other non profit making youth groups wishing to use the rink during public skating sessions, a specially discounted group rate (minimum of 8 per group) is also available at £6.00 per person (child and adult).
