Learn To Skate



A NISA (National Ice Skating Association) approved Skate UK tuition programme and a limited number of private individual lessons are available to book in advance for those persons** wishing to improve their skating skills (terms and conditions apply).

**All skating tuition is recommended for persons aged 5 and above (or at parent's discretion for younger children who are able to walk unaided with a minimum shoe size of children's 8).

Skate UK Tuition
The popular Skate UK tuition programme is available for beginners and intermediates and will run for six consecutive weeks commencing 23 /24 January respectively.

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course and all participants will be eligible for a free skate in the public session immediately following each lesson to practice their newly acquired techniques!

Tuition times:

Saturdays for beginners
9am - 9.45am

Sundays for intermediate/ advanced skaters
9am - 9.45am

Price: £69 (No concessionary rates apply)

Registration for the Skate UK programme is strictly on a first come first served before the 22 January 2010.

Individual Lessons
A limited number of individual ½ hour skating lessons by a qualified NISA coach are available commencing Saturday 23 January.

Each tuition slot is either on a one to one basis or for a maximum of two persons for family members / friends. Skate hire is free and includes a free skate for the remainder of the public skating session in which the lesson takes place.

Tuition times:

Saturdays & Sundays (commencing Saturday 23rd January)
10am - 10.30am or 10.45am to 11.15am

Monday - Friday * (commencing Monday 25th January)
12.00pm - 12.30pm or 12.45pm - 1.15pm

* except Leeds school half term week (Friday 12th to Monday 22nd February inclusive)

Price: £12.00 per individual ½ hour lesson or £20 for maximum two persons.

Terms and Conditions
  • All Skate UK bookings must be made by Friday 22nd January 2010 and paid for at the time of booking
  • All tickets must be collected in person from the box office in advance (please note box office timings above) and presented at skate reception on the date of the first skating lesson
  • All bookings are strictly on a first come, first served basis and subject to availability at the time of booking
  • No refunds will be issued for any unused tickets
  • All children 12 years and under must be accompanied at the rink (whether skating or not) by an adult (18 years or over) at all times
  • Confirmation of booking signifies an agreement and acceptance by all group members of the Ice Rules which are clearly stated on and all around the rink structure
