Fostering

We arrange care and support for around 1,300 children and young people, and we need more foster carers to help us.

As a local authority and Leeds' largest fostering service, our team is able to support carers through every step of their fostering journey, from their first register of interest through to fostering a child.

We welcome enquiries from people of all religions, races, genders and sexuality. Our foster caring community reflects a wide range of circumstances and life experience and we assess every application on an individual basis. Every day we work with foster carers who are dedicated to improving the lives of young people and we’re always looking to work with more.

We ensure our foster carers have the right financial support in place to provide for the children in their care and as a local authority we ensure that all our financial resources go into improving the lives of Leeds young people.

If you are interested in foster caring and would like to speak to member of our fostering team about taking the first step into fostering, email us on ss.fostering.and.adoption@leeds.gov.uk or call us on 0113 378 3538 - please leave a contact telephone number.
