Description : This former industrial site was planted with mixed broadleaves and some conifers in 1980. It is developing into an important landscape feature, occupying as it does, the high ground to the west of the A653 Dewsbury Road, north of Tingley roundabout. The woods were first thinned in 1993, to benefit tree stocks and wildlife. A Public Right of Way is accessible for pedestrians and passes through the wood.

The woods comprise mainly of birch, Sorbus, alder, Robinia, oak and Corsican pine tree species.

Access and facilities : A public footpath links the woodland from the A653 Dewsbury Road and Southeast Morley.
