Description :
This is a young plantation, planted in the early 1980s on the site of a former refuse tip. Species used
are
lodgepole pine and
grey alder, both of which have long been known to establish
well on reclaimed/disturbed land. Formative pruning and re-spacing work was undertaken in 1997.
This young woodland is growing well and makes a valuable contribution to the local urban fringe
landscape.
