Description : New woodland (planted 1995) on the site of former colliery/landfill site, between Eshald Lane and Aberford Road. Designed primarily for recreational use, this young woodland is developing into a valued addition to the network of Fleet Lane/Swillington Bridge plantations. Species planted include common alder, corsican pine, sessile oak and silver birch.

Access and facilities : Access is from Eshald Lane and there is open public access to the site with four woodland compartments centred around extensive playing fields.
