Description : This woodland provides a scenic backdrop to a formal lawned area, that is greatly used by the neighbouring public for sports and dog walking.

It is ideally situated to provide a natural screen for the surrounding residents in this built-up suburban area.

The dominant tree species within this woodland are ash, beech, sycamore and horse chestnut while the main understorey species are hawthorn and hazel.

A large number of well used desire lines run through this undulating woodland and the bordering spring/summer wild garlic provides a wonderfully fresh scent for walkers.

There is an antiquarian reference to Roman coins having been found in this area, although there is as yet no archaeological status attached to this site.

Access and facilities : Access is from Ramshead Drive although there are no official Public Rights of Way through the site.
