Description : This long strip of woodland runs adjacent to the Moortown Ring Road and because of this, it has a high visual amenity value to the neighbouring residents and commuters. It acts as a screen for the houses from the Ring Road and provides a valuable wildlife corridor that allows free movement within a built-up urban environment. A rustic wooden bridge spans the ephemeral stream that runs through the wood. The dominant tree species are sycamore, beech, oak and ash and the woodland also contains a small number of willow, alder and poplar trees.

Access and facilities : Desire lines and unmarked paths run throughout the woodland. Pedestrian access is via the ginnels off West Park Drive West, West Park Drive East, Roman Avenue and Park Lane.
