Gifts and Legacies
If you have an object or collection that you would like to give to Leeds Museums and Galleries, see our step by step advice guide 'Giving Objects to Leeds Museums and Galleries' (attached on the right).
If you or a loved one would like to remember us in your will, you can do this by contacting either the Leeds Art Collections Fund or the Friends of Museums (see below).
Membership Schemes
Leeds Museums and Galleries are also directly supported by two individual membership charitable organisations.
- Friends of Leeds City Museums
- Leeds Art Fund, previously Leeds Art Collections Fund (LACF)
- Leeds Philosophical and Literary Society
These groups support us by funding object and art purchases, conservation projects and special exhibitions. Individual members enjoy special benefits including preview invitations and free admission and donations to each can enjoy gift aid.
Thanks to organisations like the Friends of Leeds City Museums, we have been able to restore 'Jack' the steam engine at Armley Mills and restoration of the musical instruments at Lotherton Hall, funded by the Friends, has meant that we can now hold live recital evenings at the Hall!
The LAF continually supports our Galleries and Country Houses and have helped us to purchase pieces like both 'The Age of Bronze' by Rodin and the Farnley Book of Birds by JMW Turner at Leeds Art Gallery.
The Leeds Philosophical and Literary Society are, and have been since 1819 huge supporters of Leeds Museums and Galleries - find out more on their website.
