The Open Space, Sport and Recreation Assessment provides a basis to develop planning policies for these land uses within the Local Plan for Leeds.
The study was prepared as a requirement of Planning Policy Guidance Note 17 (PPG17) and was previously referred to as the PPG17 study.
The study:
- audits existing open space, sport and recreation facilities in Leeds
- recommends local standards for the quantity, accessibility and quality of open space, sport and recreation facilities
- identifies areas of the city in deficiency and surplus of different types of open space provision
- identifies key actions to implement the findings of the study
