Leeds Open Space Sport and Recreation Assessment

The study provides a basis to develop appropriate planning policies for open space, sport and recreation uses within the Local Development Framework (LDF).  The study was prepared as a requirement of Planning Policy Guidance Note 17 (PPG17) and was previously referred to as the PPG17 study.  It is an important component of the Leeds LDF evidence base. 

The study:
• audits existing open space, sport and recreation facilities in Leeds
• recommends local standards for the quantity, accessibility and quality of open space, sport and recreation facilities
• identifies areas of the city in deficiency and surplus of different types of open space provision
• identifies key actions to implement the findings of the study.
