A directory containing details of the journals and newspapers currently taken in the Central Library can be downloaded from this page.
The directory is arranged alphabetically by title and there is a subject index.
The record for each journal and newspaper shows:
- the department which holds the current issue
- the frequency of publication
- the extent of any back files
- a short description of the publication
- its website (if applicable)
- if the publication and / or its website carries job adverts
The directory also gives details of which day's edition of a newspaper carries adverts for particular categories of job.
Two electronic indexes to art journals - the Art Index and the Design & Applied Arts Index - are available in the Art Library.
Leeds Library and Information Service also subscribes to a number of online resources, some of which allow access to journal and newspaper articles.
All departments also hold extensive collections of journals to which we no longer subscribe or which have ceased publication. These are not listed in the directory but holdings are included in the Library Service's online catalogue.
