About the Building
Leeds City Art Gallery began its life in 1888 as a beautiful Victorian building. since then extensions to the Gallery, a new façade and overhead tunnel to the Henry Moore Institute have made a multitude of interesting spaces each with its own atmosphere.
Location
City Centre on the Headrow in Victoria Gardens, adjacent to the Central Library, the Town Hall and the Henry Moore Institute.

It has four floors of 20th century traditional and contemporary British art, a very special watercolour collection and an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions. Many new purchases are multi-sensory.

Artworks by artists of our time like Andy Goldsworthy, Paula Rego and Mark Wallinger and artists from the past such as Henry Moore, Lady Elizabeth Butler and Stanley Spencer.
