What's to see at Leeds Industrial Museum

Discover Leeds’ industrial heritage at Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills. Exhibits dating from the 18th century to present day tell the history of manufacturing in Leeds, including textiles, clothing, and engineering.  See the machines that were once powered by the mill’s impressive waterwheel.  Discover how the looms and spinning mules turned wool into cloth. Then visit the tailoring gallery to see how this cloth was turned into gentlemen’s suits.

Explore the ‘Optics Galleries’ to find out about the history of cinema projections, including the worlds first moving pictures filmed on Leeds bridge, as well as 1920’s silent movies.

Learn how Leeds printing industry began with the museum’s collection of printing hand presses.

During the regular 'working weekends' several exhibits are operated including water wheels, a steam engine and the great spinning 'mules'.
