The house
Lotherton Hall is a treasure trove of fabulous fashion, art, ceramics and furniture. You can explore the beautiful Edwardian rooms of this country house and enjoy regular exhibitions. Tours, talks and family activities also take place regularly in the house.

The house is surrounded by beautiful formal, wildflower and wooded grounds a red deer park and one of the country's most impressive and important collections of rare and endangered birds.

Bird garden 
Lotherton's bird garden has one of the most impressive and important collections in the country with species from across the world on display. Registered as a zoo, the bird garden is home to the world's largest land-based flying bird the Andean Condor, flamingos, owls, parrots and many other wonderful feathered friends.

The grounds
You can enjoy the parkland, woodland and beautifully tended formal Edwardian gardens. There are also many walks around the estate such as the Captain Wood Walk, suitable for prams or the Boundary trail, with open views of the countryside.

Location and access
13 miles north-east of Leeds city centre and one mile east of the A1 at Aberford on the B1217 or 2.5 miles from M1, junction 47.  Disabled parking is available. Restricted access to parts of the ground floor only.
